Ephesians: The Transformed Walk
A Study through the Book of Ephesians: “Walking as Children of the One True King”
Duty: Walking As Responsible Followers of Christ – The Transformed Walk.
The Apostle Paul gives us a charge to live our lives in accordance with the One (Jesus) we are to be conforming to. When you were saved— you were transformed.
Today as we continue our study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, we will learn what it will take to have and walk “The Transformed Walk”.
How can it be that we, who have been raised from death to life in Christ, choose to go back to the grave instead of living our newly given life? We are called to take off our grave-clothes and put on our grace-clothes.
So what will it take to walk this “Transformed Walk”?
“The Transformed Walk” will take putting off our old nature. (Ephesians 4:17-19)
Before Jesus we were hopeless. (Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17)
Before Jesus we were hardened. (Ephesians 2:11-13; 4:18; Romans 1:21)
Before Jesus we were hedonistic. (Ephesians 4:19; Colossians 1:21; Proverbs 26:11)
"The Transformed Walk” will take putting on our new nature. (Ephesians 4:20-24)
How do we put on our new nature in Christ? First…
We need to reflect on the teaching of the Word. (Ephesians 4:20-21; 2 Peter 1:2-9)
We need to respond to the teaching of the Word. (Ephesians 4:22; Ecclesiastes 2:10-11; Romans 6:11)
We need to be renewed by the teaching of the Word. (Ephesians 4:23-24; Romans 12:2)
WHAT DO WELL DRESSED CHRISTIANS WEAR? They wear the Lord Jesus Christ.
Clothe yourself with Jesus early in the morning and you will be well-dressed all day long!
But there is one thing you need to know, Christ must be in you before He can be on you. He must live in you as Lord and Savior before you can take Him with you to work.
I challenge you today—change your clothes! Take off your grave-clothes and put on your GRACE clothes—Put on Christ!
And then walk the TRANSFORMED WALK everyday of your life.
